Manner

Not what was said, how
Reich's instruction from the 1933 book, before any of the rest of it: ignore the content of what somebody says and name the manner. One line a day. The page counts nothing.

Today's line

Yours or somebody else's. Not the argument, the delivery: the smile at the wrong moment, the flatness, the speed, the joke that arrived to close a subject.

Lines

The honest limit, stated first. Two collapses, and they have to be told separately. The energy physics is not physics. But the American state burned his books in 1956 and he died in a federal penitentiary, and the burning was wrong regardless of whether he was right, and that wrongness has been used ever since to launder the science. The second collapse is downstream and is the one that matters now: the claim that emotional memory is stored in muscle tissue and released by pressure has no support, and the armor segments are a map with no anatomy under them, and they are the direct ancestor of a very large industry selling exactly that. What is left is the instruction from the 1933 technical book, which shaped the field before any of the rest: attend to the manner rather than the content. That is a good instruction and it is one line a day.
